March 2 - During Toy Fair 2025, the "Race & Rescue" line is officially revealed to the public after weeks of mysterious listings and images surfacing from online retailers. [1]
September 4 - LEGO Pixar: Bricktoons premiered for streaming on Disney+, featuring a Cars episode, "Trust Yer' Old Pal, Mater". It was also uploaded for free viewing on YouTube (right).
August 10 - Two new Cars-themed rides are coming to Disney World Florida, as revealed at D23 2024. One of these rides features an off-road race that is being newscasted by the RSN.^[2]
June 14 - First images of the 2025 Mainline have been found on sites such as Walmart and Icecat, revealing several new 2-packs and re-releases.
March 7 - During their 2024 Virtual Investor Presentation, Mattel announced they will soon be launching the Global Racers Cup, a cross-market storytelling series developed with Disney.^[3]

Darrell Cartrip is a 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, who announces for the Racing Sports Network. He is usually associated with the Piston Cup Racing Series, but occasionally commentates other events, such as Miles Axlerod's World Grand Prix. He is known for his comedic and lighthearted style of commentary, which often contrasts his fellow announcers' more serious and traditional approach. Darrell is also a retired Piston Cup champion.

In Cars, Darrell and Bob Cutlass commentate the 2005 Dinoco 400. At the start of the race, Darrell and Bob introduce The King, Chick Hicks, and Lightning McQueen to the audience, explaining that the three cars are tied with a score 5,013 points, and the winner of the race will take home the Piston Cup.
